After 30 minutes, fold the dough over onto itself and continue the rest for another 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes fold the dough onto itself again this time as if you are folding a letter, into 3rds. Continue the rest for 15 more minutes.
I really liked the mom and pop feel that my store has. I chose five different colors of EasyCare paint to use for this, and they mixed it up for me. I could not wait to get home and get painting. It’s me, so obviously there had to be stripes involved! Prepare your pegboard. This may mean cutting it to preferred size. I had my husband cut mine with an electric saw. Tape stripes onto pegboard where you want your stripes to end. This is best done stripe at a time if you don’t want any spaces between paint layers. Paint, let it dry, then remove the tape and tape a new stripe area off. Saw your dowels do desired length. I made mine 4.5″. You can use a hand saw or a miter saw to do this! Sand dowels so that there are no slivers poking out of them! Hang donuts on dowels.
I loved using the EasyCare paint for this project. First of all - it’s really easy to clean! This is obviously important for a donut covered pegboard. The other thing I love about it is that every color, every finish and every gallon comes with a lifetime warranty. That means you can count on EasyCare paints to keep their beautiful finish. If you are hosting a holiday party I highly recommend doing this! Your guests will love it! As a bonus, you can use the pegboard for other kinds of parties all through the year. True Value is having an AMAZING Black Friday sale. They are marking down tool sets, drills, Christmas lights, and lots of other stuff so you should RUN to your store to grab these deals! I’m giving this really cool DeWalt backpack as a gift this year - you can plug your drill battery into it and then charge your phone! The sale goes through Sunday and they will be having more sales through December as well.

It doesn’t seem like this Pokemon craze is about to die down, which is why I made these ADORABLE Pikachu donuts. Apparently, there are even some bakeries that are selling Pokemon doughnuts for a limited time. By the way, I tried playing the game but I am positive I missed out on the “gamer” gene coz I suck at it…hahaha. Make sure to have some extra donuts on hand because it takes a bit of practice to get the Pikachus looking perfect. Remember to make extra ears since they are so fragile and break easily. Use store bought donuts or homemade donuts for this project. Just make sure they are plain and not glazed. You can use different SIZES of doughnuts and even different TYPES of doughnuts (e.g. jelly-filled or regular donuts with a hole). You can use thick colored glaze or even thick ganache to draw all the details but honestly, using melted chocolate is so much EASIER! Well, that’s all for today.
